My career has taken me through many parts of Canada, where I've developed numerous technical skills to fuel my interests.Starting out as an electrician after high school in Saskatchewan, I earned my journeyman electrical certificate there, and worked in the electrical industry while studying computer science. An exciting move to Alberta allowed me to work a stint at ADT security doing emergency dispatch, before joining the Telus team and supporting the ADSL infrastructure for the Alberta region, which eventually transitioned into National IP backbone support, where I developed skills configuring Cisco and Juniper devices, and learned how to work with ATM and Spectrum. After 5 years with Telus, I worked with renewable energy in the oilfield industry for a brief stint before moving back to Saskatchewan where I purchased agricultural spraying equipment to run my own temporary business, as I applied for a career in the RCMP.After training at the RCMP academy, I was transferred to Manitoba, where I policed for almost 5 years. Since then I have returned to various technical positions, and have worked with IT, radio systems, mobile workstation infrastructure, and am currently developing skills doing IP camera surveillance/server support and access control technologies supporting both Manitoba and Nunavut.It has been a privilege working with all of the colleagues I have met over the years.In my spare time, I build things. I work with Arduino boards to monitor and control systems in my house. I'm currently welding a frame for my own e-bike design with wheels from an ATC Honda trike. I use a Prusa 3D printer, and use both Tinkercad and Sketchup to design and develop parts to support home and work projects. I plan to continue developing such projects into my retirement.
