Currently working to help clients attain their reliability improvement goals and improve manufacturing capabilities through engagement of ALL employees in Defect Elimination.

• Supervising staff of 10 Mechanical Inspectors and Specialist for Shell Chemical and Shell Oil LP. This group is responsible for rotating equipment reliability at Shell Deer Park.• Developing machinists/millwrights to be Mechanical Inspectors through an Inspector in Training Program.• Interface with Production Managers and Maintenance Supervisors to ensure the mechanical integrity of all rotating equipment is maintained.• Champion cost reduction processes while increasing MTBR (Mean Time Between Repair) for the site.• Ensure all Proactive Monitoring (Vibration, Oil Sampling, Recip Compressor Performance Testing) is being completed, all non-compliances reviewed, and actions taken.

• Advocate for long-term reliability and life-cycle cost considerations, assured that short term thinking with no consideration of long-term effects was challenged.• Maintained an awareness of new technology and applied this knowledge to improve equipment operability and reliability.• Investigated reported problems with mechanical equipment, including performance problems, leaks, noises, vibration, etc. to determine cause. Created Work Scopes for Maintenance to execute. • Supported the evaluation and risk assessment of continuing to operate equipment which is experiencing a problem, and made recommendations on run versus shut down and repair.• Inspected damaged or malfunctioning equipment to develop and communicate repair scope.• Provided technical supervision and QC inspection for shop and field work, for both Shell and Contract crafts and shops.• Investigated mechanical equipment failures and performance problems to determine root cause and most effective solution to prevent recurrence of repetitive or costly failures.• Responsible for maintaining up to date documentation of equipment and repairs including: Updating equipment database, hard files, ensuring that repair cards are completed, turned in and filed, maintaining equipment BOM’s, etc.• Provide quality assurance to mechanical work for Chemical Major Projects group.• Ensure Shell Engineering Guides & Specifications followed for new equipment installations. This includes pump foundations, base installation/leveling, grouting, equipment installation/alignment and pipe make-up.
