I think of myself as a problem solver and not a chemical salesperson. My role allows me to study and understand a variety of manufacturing processes, especially as it relates to heat transfer. I enjoy traveling to different plants within a few hours from Indianapolis and applying a systematic approach to better understanding the water treatment related issues encountered in a process or plant. This provides me an opportunity to design and implement a program to improve, control and maintain the desired results.Water treatment sales is a highly competitive field with numerous companies applying products and services in my area. The companies and their representatives deliver these products and services with a wide variety of expertise and success. Although, it is not “rocket science” water treatment can prove to be extremely challenging. When not done correctly, the results can be catastrophic. Even when a water treatment program is being properly applied, there are still likely opportunities for continuous improvement. Advances in tools for automation and data management occur at a much slower pace than cell phones, but I am amazed at the number of plants still applying strategies and tools from the 1970’s and earlier.My success is derived from the success of my customers. I find tremendous satisfaction in making a recommendation that is followed resulting in a beneficial improvement for my customers and friends. I have made recommendations that extended the life of equipment by improved corrosion results, reduced operating costs by less electrical, fuel, water and chemical consumption, eliminated safety hazards and environmental concerns by preventing chemical handling by plant personnel and eliminating drums for disposal, and enhanced heat transfer by better controlling scaling potential just to name a few.My recent job change to ChemTreat grants me to access to improved chemical solutions at lower costs and enhanced data monitoring. This will result in providing even better service for my customers at lower costs.
