I was responsible for the recommendation and acquisition of all Hardware and software relating to Information Systems (Servers and Workstations) and Communication Systems (Phone Systems, Voice Mail, Auto Attendant, and Announcement PA Systems) for our customers and for our own internal use. This included hardware and software for Point of Sale systems, Restaurant/Bar Point of Sale systems from Restaurant Data Concepts (PosiTouch), hardware and software for Hotel/Motel Property Management systems, hardware and software for telephone and voice mail systems, and hardware and software for intra-networking, inter-networking for both LANS and WANS. I designed, installed, and managed the Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003 servers including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL server, ISA Server, and the Cisco networking infrastructure, switches, routers, PIX firewalls and ASA security appliances. I also managed the customer support technicians for all of the above.

I managed all aspects of this business. When I left Combined Financial Group I started this company and oversaw all aspects of management, customer support, product support and accounting. I completed system design and engineering of servers, workstations, software, networking, cable design and cabling, hardware and software sales, installation, training and support for customer sites. This included Novell file servers, Microsoft Windows NT, and Server 2000, Exchange Server, MS SQL Server, Oracle SQL Server, Informix SQL Server, PostgreSQL Server, MySQL Server, Progress SQL Server, Unix Servers, Linux Servers, various phone systems, accounting applications; document imaging systems and custom software design. I sold this business to move to the Black Hills of SD.ACHIEVEMENTS:I designed an automated dispatching and check in system for the Long Haul trucking industry which integrated with telephone voice mail systems which would allow a trucker on the road to get new load information and update central dispatch on his/her current or delivered load information through an automated attendant system. This allowed the truckers to stay current with dispatch without having to wait for an available dispatcher to talk to. This in turn meant less time waiting around for dispatch and more time on the road which meant more loads hauled in the same amount of time.I developed custom document imaging solutions for the insurance industry, the law enforcement industry and the manufacturing industries.I developed a process to convert archives of micro film into electronic document storage systems.

I was responsible for the administration and maintenance of all in house computer systems, telephone systems and voice mail systems for this Insurance Agency. We had over 100 employees and 6 branch offices and we had an IBM Series 1 Mini computer system, three AT&T Unix computer systems, a Novell network with over 80 personal computers attached and a Microsoft Windows NT network.ACHIEVEMENTS:I became the President of the Regional Users Group for the Insurance Agency Management system (ARC/AMS) that this company used. Our Regional Group included users from MN, SD, ND, IA & MT. I organized quarterly meetings for the Regional Users Group which included training sessions on the full utilization of this system as well as round table discussion groups to develop our enhancement requests to submit to the software vendor at their annual national users group meeting.I helped develop and debug a telemarketing system for this company using the AT&T Unix systems and Informix SQL.I designed and implemented the cable plant for data and telecommunications and network switching when this business moved into a new three story building; I became Master Certified on the ARC/AMS Agency Management system software.
