After many years in the automotive industry I have become an expert problem solver. I have learned to develop and evaluate solutions to determine the best overall solution taking into account cost, timing and function. I have engineered and been part of teams to deliver several FIRSTS at Ford Motor Company. The production items have had no field issues which illustrates the importance of applying systems engineering fundamentals. Through these actions I have been granted over 80 US Patents and several global patents. This system is in production on 500K vehicles annually with no significant hardware or system issues.Created unique purge system for trucks, improving overall purge flow by 20%, with minimal changes to existing hardware, supporting vehicle certification and maintaining cost.Developed Hybrid systems OBD leak check monitor with supplier; system is robust to noise factors, has no warranty in field, and has been in production since 2012CY with minimal field issues.Resolved massive warranty affecting all hybrid vehicles issue using DMAIC. The measure illustrated a supplier quality issue and a software issue. After incorporation a 7-fold reduction in warranty claims was realized.Completed all new system analysis using Boundary Diagram, Functional Block Diagram; Parameter Diagram, Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Verification & Validation Processes
