I began my agricultural journey at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield Illinois working towards my associates degree in agricultural science. At Lincoln Land I participated in many of the agriculture clubs activity, there was always something fun we were doing. After achieving my degree at LLCC I transferred to Western Illinois University. At WIU I studied agricultural business. My focus was mainly geared towards marketing, accountancy and business management with an emphasis in the agricultural industry. I was also the Vice President of the WIU Tau Sigma National Honors society, this society helps other transferring students coming to WIU connect with one another. Lastly, I would like to use the skills I have acquired from my college career to become a grain merchandiser.After graduation, I began my career in a world leading AG. company. In 2019 I began my journey with Archer Daniels Midland Company, commonly known as “ADM”. I started as a Barge Settlement Representative. In this position I became quickly knowledgeable with grain trade rule within the barge industry. I learned some of the ins and outs of processing high volumes of grain being exported down to the gulf along the United States River systems in the Midwest. I became familiar with all the systems, commodities, and products transported by barge. ADM has constantly proven to provide a positive, engaging, and encouraging work environment. Today, my journey at ADM continues, in 2021 I was promoted to Barge Settlement Leader. I am highly active and engaged in helping my small but mighty team succeed. This new role has provided me with great opportunities to help others solve issues. I honestly enjoy seeing people succeed at what they do, and I get to see that succession while training new hires or teaching new processes. Being a leader has provided great insight for understanding how to provide a efficient/leaner work environment, thus making a happier work environment. I’m always open to new opportunities within the agricultural industry. I can’t wait for what new next thing my career brings.
