Responsibilities included managing risk and coordinating insurance programs and presentations, recommending appropriate coverage levels for all lines of coverage. Evaluating various alternative risk transfer solutions, including captives and self-insurance. Providing service and guidance in the areas of claims management, letters of credit, surety bonds and working capital needs. Acted as a liaison between company operations and various independent engineering companies during site visits. Reviewed various contracts for insurance provisions and certificates of insurance for minimum requirements and served as a liaison between field personnel and third party contractors. Developed ad-hoc computer reports and graphs to aid business units in managing their risks and identifying any loss trends and provided them with quarterly casualty accrual adjustments. Analyzed and researched the cost benefit of risk financing alternatives and various program structures. Prepared the insurance budget and provided allocation of costs to all business units. Prepared state self-insurance filings for workers' compensation insurance. Monitored the claims reporting and adjusting process performed by our third-party administrator, including maintenance of our in-house claims database system.
