I am a senior building envelope consultant and project manager within the Ottawa branch, of Concentric Associates International. Concentric is a broad based consulting engineering firm with offices in Ottawa, London, Iqaluit, Winnipeg and Saskatoon. At Concentric, we partner with clients across Canada in three specific areas of engineering and consulting – Agribusiness, Building & Infrastructure, and Environmental. Our consultants and engineers work collaboratively across different engineering disciplines and industries to help clients solve their engineering needs. Our agility and personal passion for what we do comes from our dedicated staff members who are focused on delivering professional services with a personal touch.I work predominately within the Building & Infrastructure group. The broad range of projects and clients we work with has allowed me to experience some of the most unique building techniques and geographic areas in Canada including projects within the very high arctic.My duties at Concentric include investigation, design and supervision of building envelope repairs and upgrades; including roofing, glazing and cladding systems. Projects run the gamut from small investigative and forensic assignments, through to large or complex multi-disciplinary infrastructure development. My experience working with a general contractor, the public sector (Ministry of Housing) and engineer consulting has enabled me to gain a broad perspective and understanding of the complex and unique roles each member of a successful project team requires and contributes. My passion and love is heritage building restoration including solid / mass stone masonry foundations and cladding systems. To maintain sanity in an every changing and evolving industry and economic environment I have several hobbies including photography, tinkering with electronics and CNC milling.
