Responsibilities center around bringing change to a stale financial planning, forecasting and analysis process, working closely with TXI managers to make well informed business decisions, establish accountability and align with company goals. Other achievements include: Analyze existing business segments and departments, working with and challenging both senior and operational management to identify opportunities for margin improvements across all aspects of the business.Identified sustainable annual cost savings in excess of $15 million dollars. Explain operating results to provide management with a basis for understanding drivers and improving results. Bridge current results with prior year, budget, and forecasts. Financial, sales & logistics modeling. Perform industry research and benchmarking against peers. Analyze and participate in due diligence process for new acquisitions. Prepare board meeting materials and other presentations as required. Review contracts and agreements. Perform and provide support for physical inventory for internal/external audits. Maintain internal controls (SOX) to safeguard and mitigate risk to company assets including inventory management. Responsible for management of all cost accounting activities, working closely with line departments to develop cost reduction programs. Provide margin analysis on product lines. Special classified projects & analysis. Review all capital requests and submittal paperwork, ensuring meaningful project explanations, auditable results and compliance with accounting policies. Prepare/review all financial justifications for capital projects (ROA, ROI analysis) with technical input from appropriate subject experts.
