As the City Manager of Portland, Texas, I have the privilege of overseeing the daily operations and strategic planning of our city, alongside a dedicated and diverse team of department directors and staff. My city management journey here began in August 2013, following almost two years as Assistant City Manager and a 21-year tenure as Chief of Police in two cities. I've been honored to serve the public for close to 50 years in public safety, law enforcement, and city management.Today, my primary focus remains on ensuring public safety, enhancing community engagement, and improving the quality of life for our residents and businesses. I am deeply committed to advancing Portland's vision, mission, and values, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability along the way. None of these achievements would be possible without the ongoing support and dedication of our community, city staff, and an engaged City Council.
