Æsir’s Technologies, Inc., provides advanced energy storage solutions to the specialty markets of aerospace, defense, medical, and critical infrastructure. Prior to Jan 01, 2021, Æsir had been a wholly owned subsidiary of ZAF Energy Systems, Inc., ZAF divested Æsir through a transfer from ZAF to Æsir of all its assets and operating employees. From 2011 to 2016, ZAF’s intention was to operate as an “asset light” company with an intellectual property (IP) sale or license as an exit strategy. However, in 2018 it started low-rate initial production (LRIP) factory operations in Joplin, MO, with the intention to continue to serve customers in the aerospace and defense market indefinitely. In spinning off Æsir to continue to serve the specialty markets, ZAF has granted Æsir a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to use the NiZn intellectual property. Work will continue to be performed at (now) Æsir’s LRIP facility for all current and future contracts to continue to serve customers needing energy storage solutions in the specialty markets. The simple explanation for Æsir's origin is as a rebranding of sorts—ZAF Energy has an exit strategy and Æsir Technologies has an operations focus.

Charged with direct day-to-day leadership of strategic business units in aerospace, defense and medical. Conducted 620-person facility as a matrix manufacturing and engineering and support structure with sales, marketing and program management in each of the SBUs. Primary responsibility upon joining Kollsman was to return the business to profitability through focus on operations and to create strategic vision for the company centered on commercial aviation. Realized productivity improvement through process discipline improvements in lean manufacturing, CMMI, and project management processes while nearly doubling the year-over-year bookings. Coined, realized through flight test, and publicized the concept of Vision-Based Cockpit™, synergizing two sister-divisions’ technology development initiatives, and launched new product thrust for three new avionics devices realizing significant bookings and sales increases. Established new homeland security business unit and led team to early success through in-depth familiarity with counter-terrorism and homeland security threats and solution opportunities
