Following the oversubscribed, blow-out 3-day New Economy Summit at UBC in April of 2013, and expanding from our now six years of teaching Ecological Economics, PIEE was born on Pi Day 2014 (3/14 at 3:59 PM). A dedicated team of three economics instructors and a corps of several dozen political organizers, students and practitioners are working to promote and realize an economic model based upon the laws of physics and our knowledge of planetary ecology. Media is the medium, the realtime texture to relationships between leaders and those lead. Control of image is the control of the agenda, and the will to act. Storage and retrieval of this media is also a powerful tool of accountability.The political stage is now illuminated, and the tools ready for action.Chatterbox Productions provides synchronized multi-camera 1080 to 4K setups from Glidecams, tripods, and static or flight pattern programmable drones for public or sporting events. Available field cameras range from the Sony Z1 and FX1 (NTSC only) and Pentax K1 to the small-format Sony A1 and a half-dozen 4K GoPro cameras. Colour-adjustable studio and remote field lighting is also available. Sennheiser wireless, wired lav or condenser, and stand-along Tascan digital recorders are used for sound acquisition. Digitizing for educational programming is accommodated using 4000 dpi Nikon slide (diapositive) and 1200 dpi 11"x17" flatbed scanners. Editing up to 4K video media and 20 megapixel stills is generally managed using Final Cut Pro Studio, and then output to computer file, tape, DVD, or BluRay.
