Responsible for leading a team, and training all empoyees in a major business improvement initiative. This included the total reorganization and approach to the way work is requested, approved, planned, scheduled, resourced and executed. Challenges for this position included the training of management and employees, implementation and the redesign of systems to support these efforts, and communicating the necessity of these changes and creating 'buy in' throughout the organization. Overseeing the mobile maintenance planning department and responsible for assuring quality component rebuilds (in house and those performed by contractors), preparing and tracking component replacement, budget forecasting for the mobile maintenance department, tracking all expenditures and ensuring that the department operated within budget, overseeing the fluid analysis program, conducting training & presentations associated to contamination control, and performed the duties as the relief general foreman. Duties included preventive maintenance, repair, rebuild, and component replacement on a fleet consisting of Euclid-Hitachi EH 4500 haul trucks, a variety of CAT haul trucks including 793's, 785's, 777, CAT loaders, graders and dozers, Hitachi EH 5500 and 2500 hydraulic shovels, DrilTech and Ingersoll Rand drills, and a variety of support equipment. Duties also included the training of junior mechanics and the position of relief shift supervisor.
