I like tackling issues often ignored by the mainstream.... Working from my large timbered property on the southern edge of the Olympic Peninsula rainforest, my science journalist wife and I spend much of our time reading and writing about new technology, while enjoying the country life. My writing genres include Cli-Fi (Climate Fiction) techno-thrillers, Speculative Fiction, Science Fiction, Investigative Reporting, and, yes, even Romance.I've been engaged in the community for the past several years, having run for state office, served as Scoutmaster for our identical twin sons, now both Eagles, college students, and serving in the Air National Guard. Our menagerie includes canines, cats, cattle, and koi -- all which we try to protect from coyotes, bears, and cougars.I enjoy identifying problems and arriving at workable solutions, often using evolving technology, or just plain common sense. And for 40 years I've been ruffling feathers of bureaucrats.I'm a retired Navy Supply Corps Commander trained in government contracting, budgeting, and logistics; an inventor; and former vice president of a high-tech packaging company. I've worked as a supervisor at the Port of Long Beach and owned Creative Solutions, a management consulting company.
