Research and Development Tax Credit & Cost Segregation Expert:I am the founder and head coach of Acena Consulting, LLC. The tax code is the largest body of law in the U.S. and is way too complicated for anyone to understand. Within the legal jargon lie tax incentives that can have game-changing impacts on a company's cash flow. The R&D tax credit, and more recently, the myriad of credits available to the renewable energy section, can and do give our clients a competitive edge in the global marketplace. Each of the credits available can change the course of a company's cash flow, freeing up cash critical to growth and investment. Our clients use the tax savings to reinvest in product development and research, hire top talent, and explore new cutting-edge technologies. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with these companies and make a small contribution to their overall success. Some of the biggest challenges we see relate to having the correct documentation available, understanding how the credits are calculated, and understanding the definitions that drive the activities that then drive the credit. In addition to focusing on R&D tax credits, we help companies identify other tax savings opportunities, such as cost segregation, and renewable energy credits. You can learn more about how we lower your taxes at our website: www.acenaconsulting.com.US Lifesaving Association National Team ManagerAs the USLA national team manager, I am responsible for fundraising, recruiting, developing and fielding a team of US lifeguards at the World Lifesaving Championships in the Netherlands in September 2016. http://www.usla.org/general/custom.asp?page=NationalTeamSwim CoachKnown to give tough and challenging workouts, I believe in race-pace training as an alternative to long slow distance training. If you train at below your race pace on a consistent basis, I believe you are training your body to swim long and slow (not exactly why you spend hours in the pool). So, a consistent blend of technique, intensity and focus on race strategy is how I plan, execute and conduct workouts. This approach works incredibly well for collegiate athletes, masters swimmers and triathletes and brings more speed, faster recovery and higher intensity in a shorter time frame that traditional methods of swim training. Looking for a change and perhaps bored with the old style of thousands upon thousands of yards? Come give us a try! http://www.southcoastaquatics.com/sca_coaches.html#masters

Masters Swim CoachSouth Coast Aquatics May 2006 - Nov 2020Responsible for developing coaching philosophy, writing and conducting daily training sessions, providing technical swim instruction, and motivating masters swimmers, triathletes, fitness swimmers and student-athletes.Managing diverse groups of athletes is an exciting and complicated exercise due to the different goals brought to the pool for each training session. It also brings an element of challenge to develop creative workouts that challenge and motivate swimmers to achieve their individual goals. At South Coast Masters, I have been privileged to be part of the coaching staff that has brought in a new higher intensity, lower yardage approach to our training philosophy. With an increase in race-pace training and reduce focus on long slow distance, our swimmers are seeing the benefit of focusing on technique, higher intensity and race rehearsal. This is an exciting time at South Coast Aquatics and I feel honored to be a part of the important and dramatic change in philosophy that will continue to bring fantastic results to our swimmers.
