Randy is a professional writer of fiction, memoirs, and essays. He’s published and presented peer-reviewed technical papers ranging from digital media to simulation-based training for first responders in the US and Europe. Randy spent a decade as a Sr. Proposal Manager writing responses to federal solicitations for IT services and some of his proposals have won multi-million-dollar awards. Since 2013, he’s run the Keene (New Hampshire) Public Library Fiction and Memoir Writers Group. Randy’s initial career has spanned years as a professional illustrator, graphic designer, and draftsman. In 1978 his career evolved into computer graphics and produced animations and special effects for TV commercials, industrial videos, and litigation support. He worked at Anaconda Mining Research in Tucson, Arizona and spent six years at IBM’s T.J. Watson Computer Science Research facility in Hawthorne, New York working as a subject matter expert in multimedia, graphics, animation, and special effects. Over the years Randy’s been an art director, underground copper miner, illustrator, maintenance man, logger, driller and blaster, government contractor, and volunteer fireman. Randy is currently providing an online writers' group for fiction and creative nonfiction, while providing publishing support for Amazon KDP for writers. He is also developing a YouTube channel Art, Magic & Madness where he discusses arts and media and sharing media clips.He lives in southern New Hampshire with his wife MaryBeth, who’s also a writer.
