I was recruited by this dealership in Hudsonville when things started going south with Saturn. It's funny, most dealerships see salespeople come and go. I saw dealers come and go. The store was literally sold around me 5 times. I was the only sales employee to remain. When I originally went to work for this dealership it was Hartman Chevrolet. Hartman sold to Shaheen who sold to Timmer who sold to Serra who sold to Wenzel. While working there I set several sales records while achieving the highest Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI Rating) in the store. I developed the internet marketing department and integrated email and website development. In the early years (Hartman and Shaheen) I did the advertising and marketing for the store and loved it. I found that we could compete with the “BIG” dealerships when we advertised the “RIGHT” way. In the last few years there I also ran several campaigns online with Google pay per click for Corvette sales and wound up becoming the Corvette Specialist at the store shipping Corvettes all across the country. It was a fun gig, especially when Chevrolet makes you go to a racetrack and see what the Corvette will do against it's competition. I was recruited by Saturn to get the store off the ground in Grand Rapids Michigan. I totally loved the Saturn "Culture" and beliefs. I saw a need for a simple pricing system clients could use while waiting to talk to me. I developed the Saturn "Menu." It was an instant hit. We soon had Saturn retailers all over the country asking to use our "Menu." It became a part of the Saturn image throughout the country. I was cross trained in every retail front end department and even trained in "Training" by Saturn Corp. I hold the highest award given to an individual by Saturn Corp. "Moment of Truth" award. I also set several sales records personally while employed there. Best day: 9 New Saturns sold and delivered. . I was a featured author in “Grand Rapids Business Journal” and caught the writing “Bug.” I’ve taken a lot of what I learned while working with Saturn and carried it over to other businesses.
