Randy retired from the Toronto Police Service in January 2023 as a Staff Superintendent; a career that spanned over 36 1/2 years and included uniformed policing duties; general investigative duties; drug investigations; homicide investigations; front line operations management, creativity and innovation, strategy execution; corporate risk; operational support and now front line operations. Randy’s strengths are in leading high performing teams, project management, change management; risk mitigation and strategic planning. He continues to build his skills in all areas of effective leadership especially emotional intelligence, transformational leadership, thought leadership and complex problem solving.Randy's pursuit of learning has earned him a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and a Certificate in Risk Management from the University of Toronto. Randy has a Canadian Risk Manager designation and was recently awarded his Certified Municipal Manager III Police Executive designation as well. Randy has also graduated from the FBI National Academy, Session 257, in Quantico, Virginia, leveraging 210 other great police minds.Randy is a Member at Large of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters Toronto and the Board of Children's Aid Society of Toronto. Randy learns from participating and chairing sub-committees of these Boards. He is also a member of the Board of the Toronto Police Widows and Orphans Fund.
