As a UX/UI Designer and Developer, I worked with the UX researchers and designers to make changes to our current but outdated websites to bring them up to modern web standards, better usability, and with responsive design to meet the new mobile standards. During this time we also did a major company rebranding so all the colors, logos, fonts, and styles were changed. I was able to accomplish all of this by updating the CSS and HTML without needing to do drastic changes to the backend code.I also work with current web application projects as both a UX and UI designer and developer to bring out of the box software up to our branding standards and to also increase the User Experience and Usabilty to meet our customers needs and wants.

Developed and maintained the public websites, the secure website for our agents and mutuals, and the intranet for Grinnell Mutual. Fixed issues that would be reported by troubleshooting and finding a solution in a timely manner, especially with the secured sites as the agents and mutuals relied on them for their business. Developed an asp.net and XML based solution to find and retrieve documents from our OnBase document storage system. Modified an outdated vb.net content management system to continue to work for our needs, as replacing was not an option at the time.

Designed, built and maintained FlickStream.com a video channel based service designed for Set Top Boxes and mobile devices. FlickStream created niche based video movie channels that stream content to devices using the Internet as the transport mechanism. I built the websites and set up the eCommerce for payments subscriptions for customers. I created and designed all the graphics and art work for the channels and website, www.FlickStream.com

Designed, programmed and maintain the company's Intranet, Document Library and employee directory. Designed and built the outage and maintenance notification system used by Networking and ISP Systems. Designed and built the new Website, www.zumatel.com (defunct) integrating news feeds and embedded email. Redesigned and integrated the Webmail and Premium Spam Control with an improved user interface.

Design, program and maintain the company's Web site and customer account access system. Design, program and maintain the company's Intranet and content management system. Maintain the RedHat Linux Apache Web server and Sendmail email server.

Lawrence, Kansas Area

Designed and maintained the content delivery web sites for the monthly publications: Sys Admin magazine, The Perl Journal and the weekly online magazine Unixreview.com. Involved with the integration of all archived magazine content in the database dynamic delivery system. Wrote reviews on books relating to UNIX, Linux, and the Web Industry. Involved as technical consultant for content of magazine articles. Configured and Maintained the Sparc/Linux test Web, Samba, and ftp server.
