Great Western Bank was founded in 1907 as a hometown, community bank. Now a regional leader with more than 160 locations and more than 20,000 surcharge-free ATMs, it has grown dramatically, but retains its position as a hometown bank in the communities it serves. As senior systems administrator and as a member of the infrastructure team for Great Western Bank, I am responsible for the enterprise level implementation and administration of the bank's storage arrays to include EMC VNX, Isilon, VNXe and XtremIO storage ,our EMC Avamar/Data Domain backup grids and our recently added Pure Storage all flash arrays.Specific areas of oversight and administration include daily monitoring and managing our storage arrays and backup process. Providing health checks, preventative and corrective maintenance of our Pure Storage, EMC VNX, Isilon, VNXe and XtremIO SAN and SAN replication to our Disaster Recovery Data Center. I actively manage and administer more than 14,000 backups a month for all our servers, both local and remote. I provide on-going Audit reporting of our backups to the various Audit agencies.I assist with our Virtualized server farm of more than 450 server with administration and support of our VMware Infrastructure. Great Western Bank is more than 95% virtualized.During my tenure we implemented EMC Avamar backup grids and Data Domain for our enterprise backup solution with Data Protection Advisor for Reporting.Recent projects include migrating 400+ virtual servers to the Cisco UCS platform. Implemented VMware Site Recovery Manager for enhanced DR capabilities. Completed a full Tech refresh of our EMC VNX San and Avamar backup grids. Implemented our Isilon, and XtremIO and VNXe SAN. The Pure Storage Flash Array was our most recent addition.

Also, I partnered with sales teams to lead technical presentations and facilitate project management efforts, communicating cross-functionally with management, users, clients, and technology teams.I led numerous large-scale, client-focused installation and migration projects, utilizing my expertise in VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, Novell, IP Telephony, VLAN, LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, and Wireless Trunks, as well as multiple operating systems and protocols. Many of my WANs used Cisco Routers and Cisco Chassis Switches with 10Gig fiber optic backbones, as well as Wide Area Routed Networks using Frame-Relay and PPP circuits. I used VMWare ESX Virtualization Servers to consolidate services, and implemented site-to-site VPN using Cisco products to enable remote access. I also installed VLANs and VLAN Trunking for medium to large switched networks.
