Lifeguard Health Networks, Inc. has developed LifeguardMOBILE™, a novel software platform designed to be a Virtual Health Assistant for patients, caregivers, and health care providers involved in caring for a patient with conditions where the complexity of care is high such as Cancer, COPD, Heart Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, etc. While working for Lifeguard Health Networks, I completed the following projects: Migrated the application hosting environment from Microsoft Azure to Amazon Web Services. Implemented fully automated configuration management and deployment solution which achieved 100% ephemeral server configurations using Saltstack. Fully automated configuration of AWS infrastructure components including ELB, RDS, Cloudwatch, Lambda, S3, EC2, Route53, SQS, SES, IAM and KMS. Implemented an AWS policy based environment which provides a centrally managed digital key authentication mechanism for access control, with full separation of regulated Personal Health Information (PHI) from all administrative and development personnel. Applied continuous integration solutions for managing testing, packaging and deployment of applications to production environments. Managed the remote software development team and improved defect identification and resolution processes through introduction of modern development tools and processes. Reduced hosting costs and improved application availability through introduction of distributed Linux hosted services. Defined security architectures and policies to deliver state-of-the-art secure Healthcare application services.

Worked with the organization CTO to establish an Enterprise Architecture and Technology Governance process. NYU had recently expanded into several geographically separated locations located in Europe and China. I worked with other members of the project to help identify challenges presented by the growth of the organization and the challenges faced in bringing other existing technology groups into an Enterprise managed process. Solution points included: Application of TOGAF Enterprise Architecture best practices to help identify current state and future state environments across the organization. Designed a process workflow that would be used to identify technical and information resources that needed to be standardized and moved toward an Enterprise strategy to improve interoperability, while leveraging economies-of-scale provided by the now larger organization.

Worked with a team that was documenting the Target System Architecture for NOAA's Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System. CLASS provides the system services that deal with aggregating and distributing the petabytes of data collected from the many NOAA and Department of Defense satellite missions.

Worked with a team working on the Northrop Grumman X-47B UCAS to introduce concepts of open architecture and open source software process in an attempt to provide a standard capability system interface. The goal of the project was to enable smaller and more innovative companies a way to bring new systems to the platform at a potentially lower cost. The goal was to provide a non-proprietary systems interface to level the playing field for vendors.

ADP is an industry leader in online payroll and HR solutions, tax, compliance and benefit administration services. A global leader in emerging technology adoption, employing over 40,000 employees, spread across 26 countries with products and services deployed on a broad range of hardware and software architectures.In this role, I developed and led the strategic information technology direction to support more than 120 products, serving greater than 600,000 clients and over 50 million client employees. Focused on building a global collaborative culture within a $9B business. Redesigned an infrastructure architecture leveraging open standard technologies to span the ADP enterprise and deliver a large scale SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution.Solved challenges presented by fragmented development, test and deployment through process definition and SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) automation. Applied a CoE (Common Operating Environment) strategy comprised of the Linux operating system, Industry Standard vendor products and Open Source technologies deployed across a heterogeneous hardware infrastructure ranging from Intel Servers to Mainframe technology.Participated in the evaluation and technical due diligence process for corporate acquisitions. Took an active role in the strategy and execution for integrating the technical teams and technology of newly acquired companies into the ADP culture and technology development process.

Participated as a member with other technology leaders working in New York City and surrounding area to provide a voice for industry members and the product demands we had identified for the Linux Operating System and other Open Source Software solutions. Members included CTOs from AIG, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Bayer, IBM, Merrill Lynch and others.

Collaborated with an international team of eight co-founders to produce the most successful open-source software project known as The Apache HTTP Project. Personal project focus included security, E-Commerce, Commercial Web Hosting capability and UNIX platform support. The resulting HTTP server software is now deployed on over 60% of all web servers on the Internet. Co-led the creation of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), a non-profit foundation created to encourage the sharing and protection of intellectual property for the advancement of the state-of-the-art in open-source Internetsoftware technology.

Served as Board Member for the Open Source Development Lab. The OSDL is a consortium of Open Source industry members now known as The Linux Foundation. The founding companies include IBM, HP, CA, Intel and NEC.

Successfully raised $35 million in three rounds of funding during the years 1999 through 2002 from top tier Venture Capital firms such as Granite Ventures, Sequoia Capital and Menlo Ventures. Recruited top executives and engineers, growing the company to 80 people within one year. Innovated software industry with business model incorporating open-source and open-standard technology in the development and delivery of enterprise solutions. Led company strategy establishing the product line at the forefront of web content delivery solutions, meeting enterprise level performance, security and deployment requirements. Delivered an industry-leading product line providing secure web server and content delivery architectures for F200 Enterprises and major institutions. Successfully utilized media to build positive public relations and perception. Presented briefings to major US corporations and US government intelligence agencies including the NSA, CIA, DIA and others.
