Began as a contract position through Insight Global and converted to direct position in August 2019. General Motors (GM), Warren Global Technical Center, Quality Reliability & Durability (QRD) - Infotainment and Telematics.Created a more robust and automated system to allow the QRD staff to categorize various quality issues and report on trends, etc. This was being done in a more manual process using various Excel workbooks stored on SharePoint.Microsoft Access was used as the primary tool to retrieve, manipulate, and store the data. This was a very customized system including many custom forms and VBA modules.Various SQL queries were used along with other ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) techniques to retrieve data from Teradata tables and prepare it for import into the Access database.Most reporting was done via Tableau and Microsoft Power BI dashboards published to a corporate server which allowed company-wide access (if permission is granted) to the information created by this system. Additional reporting was accomplished by linking various Excel workbooks to the live Access data.This complete system allows data to be extracted from various GM systems and transformed into useful information which was used by various GM organizations to quickly identify quality problems with various components and rapidly correct these issues to ensure the highest quality vehicles are delivered to their customers. This system is being used as a model to create a corporate application to be used by many areas of the company.A more recent addition to this system is the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automate some of the work done by the engineers to allow them more time for problem solving.

October 2016 - November 2016:Short-term project at Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust.Merging data from various sources to produce reports to aid in the preparation of a 5-year business plan. This includes financial data, demographic data, and competitive comparison data.Assist in updating various quarterly financial reports and documents. October 2014 - September 2016:Project at General Motors (GM), Warren Technical Center, Global Business Services, Process Validation & Improvement (PVI).Supply data for a group that audits supplier contracts vs. payments with recoveries typically over $100M per year.Retrieve data from many sources such as legacy mainframe databases, Oracle databases, Microsoft Access databases, and various others.Familiar with data tables of various GM systems such as GPS, GPDS, DACOR, MARS, Warranty, etc.Work with other team members to design audit report packages that allow the highest recoveries in the shortest time using risk modeling.Audit reports against source systems to ensure accuracy.Designed and developed an application using Microsoft Access to generate metrics for audit potential and actual recoveries including various management reports.Enhanced the performance of some existing database processes including writing VBA functions to replace long-running SQL queries.

Under contract through EASi, an Aerotek CompanyPart of the Plant Manager’s staff assigned to the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiative.Work closely with other Chrysler facilities who are further along in the WCM initiative to apply some of their best practices at JNAP.Make VBA code modifications and improvements in various Microsoft Access databases and Excel workbooks.Perform various data mining tasks to enable and enhance various database functionality.Troubleshoot and repair various defects in Microsoft Access databases and Excel workbooks. This involves table structure issues, index issues, VBA coding issues, macro errors, formula and calculation issues, etc.

A Pricewaterhouse Coopers project for General Motors through Randstad Technologies US.VBA code enhancements and improvements in various Microsoft Access databases and Excel workbooks. These databases and workbooks track various aspects of leasing data. This involved coordination with off-shore developers.Various Oracle data loads and other data validation activities. Some of the tools used in this process included TOAD for Oracle and Putty.Verification of data in new systems vs. legacy systems. This often required various SQL queries and extensive research.

Under contract through DPM Consulting Services.Co-developed multiple enhancements for the Ongoing Revenue Budget (ORB) tool that is currently used to manage the $1.05 billion global IT consumption budget. This relational database replaced the highly manual Excel spreadsheet and SharePoint List process, which included a spreadsheet of 110 columns and 52k records. The development of this tool was based on global requirements and has significantly reduced processing of changes by utilizing relational tables, user input screens, and robust reporting. The workflow of changes to approvals has also been drastically reduced, allowing a quicker publication of change impacts.Coordinated with end-users and senior management to design, develop, and implement various updates to this ORB tool. Primary development tools included Microsoft Access (VBA) and Microsoft Excel (VBA). Also, provided help-desk style support for this tool.Analyzed data from this ORB tool to create various metrics reports and graphs using Microsoft Excel.
