Prior to his taking the helm, it was definitely a second-tier organization with small, poorly-attended shows and little impact on the industry. Randy's leadership had made it into a serious force in the industry, and grown it to the point where what had been the major US industry show (CardTech/SecurTech) ended up joining forces with SCA in order to revitalize itself.
