-Design and execute experiments with guidance from Research Scientists for novel in vitro assay development within a 96-well plate format.-Formulation of compounds to desired testing concentrations to meet the needs of model development for assays of interest.-Identify/isolate/maintain aerobic bacteria for in house strain bank. -Collaborate with data scientists to identify data trends and revise protocols for antimicrobial models. -Handle inventory supplies and duties such as ordering raw materials and parts, maintaining stocks, updating records, receiving deliveries and detecting discrepancies between stocks and records.

-Analyze routine urine, respiratory and blood cultures and perform biochemical tests to differentiate aerobic/anaerobic pathogenic microorganisms from normal flora.-Process microorganisms for identification and sensitivities through dilutions and use of Vitek 2 instrumentation and report antimicrobial susceptibilities for patient infections.-Work on identifying pathogenic fungi and other unique organisms, using differentiating methods. (Yeasts, Molds, Nocardia spp., Streptomyces spp.)-Work in a biosafety level 2 environment.-Gram stain, analyze and result specimen slides within allotted turnaround time.-Process patient specimens received in the laboratory in a timely manner.-Statistical analysis of patient blood cultures on a monthly basis to determine rates of contamination and true sepsis for all hospitalized patients.

-Work under direct supervision of medical technologists in multiple departments handling clinical patient specimens (Blood bank, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Diagnostics and Clinical Chemistry) - Identify blood groups and match blood samples to determine and verify the final cross-match for blood transfusions. -Examine the peripheral blood for diseases such as anemia, hemophilia, and leukemia. -Examine serum for diseases such as Lyme disease and autoimmune disorders such as Rheumatoid arthritis. -Examine samples with molecular techniques (DNA extractions, RT-PCR and Gel electrophoresis) to help the diagnosis of genetic mutations such as Factor V leiden, Polycythemia vera as well as sexually transmitted diseases such as Neisseria gonorrhea and clamydia -Determine the presence and quantity of chemical substances/enzymes in the blood, urine, and other body fluids to diagnose a variety of illnesses including diabetes and kidney and liver disorders.

-Perform a multitude of common laboratory procedures such as Microscopy, DNA extractions, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, DNA sequencing, etc. -Operate advanced softwares such as Geneious to help understand the sequences. -Work with Graduate student on developing a plan of action.​-Go out and collect live samples to be used for the experiment.

As a URI 101 Mentor I had an influential role in helping a class of 20 to 30 first year students in their transition to college. Created an effective and comfortable partnership with a co-instructor usually a faculty member in the same field of study and become a resourceful team for the students and each other. Working with the co-instructor in creating lessons that covered an array of topics such as involvement, importance of civic engagement, personal responsibility, academic and career planning, etc. Although the position was only for the Fall semester, my co-instructor and I still meet with our students and assist them in any possible way.
