I’m a licensed Insolvency trustee (L.I.T.), Chartered Insolvency Restructuring Professional (C.I.R.P.), and Chartered Professional Accountant (C.P.A. - C.A.) with over 25 years of experience in insolvency-related matters. I began my insolvency career working on corporate and personal files for national and regional accounting firms. After 7 years, I wanted to put my ideas for operating an insolvency business into practice, so I started R. West & Associates Inc. Since 1993, we’ve helped thousands of people in Surrey and Burnaby/Coquitlam areas solve their financial problems and get a fresh start.Whether it’s an individual or company, I believe it’s important to take the time to listen, show respect, ask questions, and gain a thorough understanding of the situation. At R. West & Associates, I try to perform all first assessments as I believe a licensed insolvency trustee is better suited to asking the right questions and uncovering less obvious issues than a less experienced or less qualified debt administrator. The goal is for our staff to develop a plan that’s right for the individual or company. Expert, personalized advice combined with flexible service is what sets us apart.I have extensive experience in consumer insolvency, including debt counselling, consumer proposals, and bankruptcy. My knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) collection issues allows me to negotiate, when applicable, successful restructuring proposals. I’ve also worked with small and medium-sized companies across multiple industries, including restaurants, woodworking, manufacturing, retail, and service businesses. I’m experienced at negotiating with CRA to restructure debts related to GST and payroll deductions.I enjoy lecturing to various groups on a range of insolvency topics. I’m a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) and an active member of the tariff review committee. CONTACT ME at 604-591-7634 or randy@rwest.ca.
