Help facilitate the evolution of our IP network product set and network infrastructure, working with other teams in defining and implementing network architecture, designs and configurations on both regional and global scale. Develop processes and procedures to monitor and maintain a stable network infrastructure and operating environment. Successfully deploy hardware and software changes into the operating environment and guide activities in both the production and test environments to ensure that disruptions to the business and our customers are minimized.

Responsible for creating and cultivating global partnerships and strategic interconnection initiatives throughout GTT's Global backbone. Key goals include improving our customers' experience by expanding our network footprint, identifying new opportunities to broaden our products portfolio and seeking ways to optimize our existing backbone infrastructure, all as means towards enhancing shareholder value.

* Negotiated Settlement-Free Peering Interconnections with Internet and Network Service Providers throughout the world.* Helped to develop a published, standard peering policy and process by which to evaluate requests for Peering with our various networks.* Developed standard procedures to evaluate peering requests.* Compiled the weekly agendas for the Peering Steering Committee (PSC) meetings.* Evaluated more than 2000 peering requests and established hundreds of PSC-approved peering interconnects.* Worked with an IT development firm to compile the requirements for a web-based Peer Tracking system; also primary system tester for the system as it was moved from beta into the live network.* Gathered data and generated reports for filings with the DOJ and FCC during merger proceedings.* Represented the company at numerous Network Conferences, including RIPE, NANOG and ISPCon.

* Volunteer Administrator for over 75 city and county sub-domains in the *.PA.US space. Processed hundreds of registration requests at no cost; provided free assistance to the registrants throughout the registration process on how to administer their DNS services on their own subdomains.

* One of four original members of the UUNET IT Department.* Co-designed the initial data structures to support the Install, Provisioning and Network-Engineering departments and migrated the data from UNIX Flatfiles into a relational Database (Sybase)* Wrote or rewrote many of the initial Perl scripts to pull reports from the new data structures.* Managed a team of six DBA's and programmer/analysts in the development of GUI Applications for the newly created data structures using Powerbuilder, which included applications for the High-Speed Installation, Network Engineering, and Hub Deployment departments.* System Admin for the Sun/Solaris development servers used to develop our applications.

* Provided full life-cycle support on the installation of commercial IP services to Companies ranging in size from mom-and-pops to Fortune 500.* Provisioned, Ordered, and Tested Leased-Line circuits.* Configured Network devices, including Cisco to bring up IP connections across the leased lines* Taylored our IP offerings to meet the particular customer's needs, including setting up DNS, NNTP News Feeds, UUCP and SMTP Mail Services.

* Developed and modified financial management software for the Federal Government (FFS) on the IBM 3090/DB2 and Sun Solaris/Sybase platforms.* Worked with several Federal agencies, including the IRS, US Treasury, and Small Business Administration.
