Professor (Dr) Rangamini Werawatta serves as the Director of the School of Information Communication Technology at the Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS). He is an Adjunct Professor in Technology Management and an expert in Information Technology, Technology Management, Cyber Studies, Social Media and Computer Science and his first publication is “Cyber Security: 01 Byte from the Cyberspace”. His interest in information and technology led him to successfully complete a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology and then a Masters in Development Studies (MDS) from the University of Colombo where he was focusing on how Information Technology affects for the development process of a country. Professor Werawatta is currently following a Doctoral study in Business Administration at Asia eUniversity, Malaysia.Professor Werawatta is a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS), Chartered Institute of IT, United Kingdom, thereby combines and shares his academic knowledge with the bodies of professionals.Formerly, Professor Werawatta has led the ICT Departments of many notable organizations in Sri Lanka, such as the MDF Training & Consultancy, Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) and S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike National Memorial Foundation (BMICH) and he has headed many projects related to IT industry, International Relations, Foreign Policy, Cyber Studies, Youth Empowerment, Security Studies and Conflict Management both locally as well as internationally.As an academic Professor Werawatta has rendered his services in the domains of E-Business, E-Commerce, Information Communication Technology, Social media, and Cyber Studies to many local and international institutes such as the Leeds Trinity University, United Kingdom, NIIBS, BCIS and MDF Training and Consultancy. Professor Werawatta is a regular contributor to national newspapers sharing his expert knowledge on Technology Management, Information Management, Cyber-Crimes, Cyber Threats, Cyber Security, Cyber Politics, Social Media, Information Security and the Internet, and also has shared his expertise knowledge on these areas through academic articles.
