My PhD research focus on strongly correlated thin-film oxide materials. Specifically, I work on developing the fundamental understanding of structure-property relationships in perovskite oxides and emergent phenomena at oxide heterostructure interfaces. • Led an international research program on novel materials for superior energy conversion devices; initiated and led collaboration of 20 researchers from 4 domestic and 2 international institutes. • Studied the detailed structure-transport correlation in perovskite ionic conductors, and realized the enhancement of ionic conductivity via optimal structural design• Designed and set up the first high-temperature ambient electrochemical measurement platform in the group for reliable probing of charge-transport and electrocatalytic activity in thin-films.• Revealed the effect of surfaces atomic structures of perovskite oxides on oxygen evolution activity.• Initiated and designed studies on point-defect engineering of the ground states and emerging functionalities in perovskite ferroelectric/antiferroelectric thin-film materials.• Designed and conducted studies on controlling magnetic and electrical response in oxide thin films via interfacial engineering over crystal symmetry and lattice distortion.
  • University Of Illinois At Urbana-Champaign
    Graduate Researcher
University Of Illinois At Urbana-Champaign Aug 2013 - Dec 2014
    Urbana-Champaign, Illinois Area
    • Investigated the synthesis and fabrication of ferrite-perovskite all-oxide spin-valve devices• Led study on the growth-induced evolution of physical property of perovskite manganites thin films
