As a seasoned Unity game designer and developer with over 8 years of experience, I've ventured from freelance work to founding Heladev Studios, where I served as CEO and Lead Game Developer. In 2017, I launched 'Ceylon Game Dev,' a YouTube channel aimed at aiding Sri Lankan aspiring developers with tutorials on game design and development.In 2019, I introduced free live game development sessions, pioneering this initiative in Sri Lanka. The positive response led to a demand for more comprehensive, high-quality game development courses, culminating in the establishment of 'Ceylon School of Game Design' (CSGD) - Sri Lanka's first game design school. Today, I serve as the Director of CSGD, educating on game development, design, AR, VR, and other immersive subjects.In 2023, I founded 'MightyXR,' an XR development company in Sri Lanka, where I assume the roles of lead designer and developer. The company specializes in creating cutting-edge immersive AR and VR applications, harnessing technologies like webAR. Additionally, I serve as a visiting lecturer in game development at Sri Lankan universities and offer game development consulting services.My commitment to community building is evident in my 6.5k-strong YouTube dev community. I also take on the role of chief mentor at 'Heladev Open Community Projects,' fostering collaboration among designers and developers from diverse industries. I've been a speaker at numerous university hackathons, game jam events, webinars, and game development workshops.With a passion for leveraging AR and AI to address real-world challenges, I'm driven by the belief that the world benefits from more creators.
