I am ecstatic about the newest opportunity afforded me by Virginia State Parks. I strive to surpass the expectations and responsibilities of this new position. I look forward to a lifelong career in a field I am most passionate about. Though I have been performing many of the same duties since my arrival to VA State Parks in 2005; I am excited for the training and growth experiences to come.The Interpretive/Visitor Experience department of VA State Parks has been building upon a solid foundation to improve not only program offerings for the public, but also the level of skills imparted to each of its dedicated employees. Sailor'S Creek Battlefield Historical State Park

Having transferred to Sailor's Creek Battlefield I can call on my love of history and my skills as a period re-enactor. I am charged with developing and maintaining a solid Environmental education Outreach program as well as maintaining an historical focus. I look forward to the new challenges and opportunities that await me.

Smith Mountain Lake State Park

I am privileged to share my passion for the natural world, instill stewardship in our future generations and re-awaken an appreciation for our natural, cultural and historical treasures Virginia’s fourth most visited State Park.I plan, implement and personally run activities as well as track their attendance that has been enjoyed by over 112,000 park guests since September of 2005. Over the years I have worked with and supervised some of the best volunteers in our Virginia State Park system. I have grown Smith Mountain Lake State Park’s Environmental Educational Outreach program by an increase of 191% reaching over 33,000 students.I track all interpretive attendance numbers, create mos. reports and write our Anual Implementation Plan for SML State Park.I have worked with three VA State Parks to create their Visitor Experience Plan.I hope to continue to work in a field that allows me to indulge my love and deep appreciation for our natural world and to personally grow with each guest interaction.
