About Rangi Parata

Started out as an apprentice typographer / compositor at the Timaru Herald in NZ back in 1975. After gaining my trade certificate, I then went onto to complete my advanced trade certificate. After completing my time, I returned to my home town of Dunedin, where I took up a new position as 2-I-C at the Otago Daily Times working in the commercial division of the graphics division. Whilst living back home, I took up flying (another favourite hobby) where I gained my pilots licence. After gaining that I moved to Australia in 1980 living in Sydney for 14 years. Worked for the Time Graphics in Bondi Junction as graphic designer / typesetter plus doing some flying. Moved onto to Dawson Publications where I was Studio Manager for 9 years. I was offered a position in Brisbane working in a design studio back in 1993 and I'm still here in Brisbane in 2010 and loving it.Specialties: Creative Design, Pre-Media operations within the printing industry and graphics industry. Still involved with my love of aviation.
