Guild House Farm

Developed an edible landscape at Guild House West with 40 raised vegetable beds, a fruit orchard, and high tunnel for year-round growing. Guild House Farm produces thousands of pounds of produce annually, which is distributed free of charge to low-income residents. Additionally, the gardens offer space for respite, exercise, and intergenerational programming.

Programs focused on seasonal culinary skills, sustainable growing practices, and direct sales techniques. Students built customer skills, explored seasonal flavors, and developed agricultural literacy.

Collected rents, conducted annual recertifications, completed move-in paperwork, conducted file reviews, and prepared rental reports. Worked with rental assistants from other Friends Rehabilitation Program properties to standardize and improve company-wide systems.

Scarborough, Me

Supported the growth of a start-up CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm in Scarborough, Maine. Sustainably grown fruit, vegetables, herbs, eggs, meat, and dairy distributed to 100 farm members. Free-range lamb, pigs, chickens, and dairy cows produced meat, eggs, and milk while supporting vegetable production with targeted field rotations to fertilize and clear land. Additionally, a farm-based summer camp taught youth ages 5-10 about forests ecosystems and sustainable agriculture.

New Zealand

Assisted operations on nine farms across New Zealand. Operations ranged from wholesale producers of grapes and tree fruits to farm-based retreat centers to community-based farms focused on recreation and food justice. Hands-on experience built skills in direct sales marketing, permaculture techniques, and community engagement strategies.
