The LeNS Network is a global network of Higher Education Institutes with a focus on research and pedagogy of Design for Sustainability. I am coordinator for the LeNS international network, LeNS India network as well as the LeNS Lab at Srishti. My research uses the pedagogy of 'place as text' and is embedded in community contexts and involves stakeholders across multiple scales including governments, NGOs and policymakers. My current work is in three areas: Disaster Resilience in the Western Ghats, Design for Sustainability and the Future of Collaboration

I worked as an urban planner and researcher. I led the work on Smart Cities and was empaneled on the IoT for Smart Cities Task Force set up by the Ministry of Electronics and IT while also worked on a number of smart cities proposals. Infrastructure projects I worked on included proposals for BEST Depot Redevelopment, Jamnagar River Front Development, Mula Mutha Riverfront Development in Pune, andTourism Village in Jammu. Community based work included spatial design for Dharavi Biennale 2015 and the Matunga ALM participatory design project.

Bangalore

Working on residential projects, my responsibilities included design; producing working drawings; coordination with the clients and construction team; project management and construction supervision.

Ladakh

As part of the Leh Old Town Initiative (LOTI) I was involved in documenting heritage buildings, preparing plans for restoration and extensively interacting with the community to develop ideas and designs for a sustainable program for rejuvenation of houses and urban infrastructure.I was also involved in three projects in the rural areas of Ladakh.

Auroville

My main responsibilities included designing project proposals for a newcomer housing complex; furniture and interior design; preparing project write-ups and presentations. Through my projects I was exposed to sustainable construction technology like rammed earth, bamboo and compressed stabilised earth blocks;
