It was a Friday morning in 2009 and my phone rang. On the call was a professor I had been in touch with, we decided to catch up over a cup of coffee. We chit-chatted for about 45 min about life in Hyderabad, my love for science, and other things under the sun.A week later I received an email from the same Professor with a job offer!Then in 2012 while singing at a party I met an enterprising doctor. We had a deep conversation about music, medicine, etc and before I knew it we started working as a team.I first met Sachin, my current work colleague, for a walk in 2019. In the very first meeting, we knew that we were meant to build something together. That something turned out to be The StoryCo.I have heard people crib about the lack of good work opportunities while they seem to come knocking at my door. I have often wondered why and what worked for me each time? One thing common in all the experiences which led to work opportunities was that they all started with a great conversation. One that made me feel happy and hopeful. But when I dug deeper, I realised that I am curious about listening to other people’s stories and sharing my authentic feedback. This, I believe, has worked in my favour each time despite me not having the perfect qualification for these roles.This ability is what I bring to the table at The StoryCo as well. I am always curious to know people’s stories and listening to them is something that comes naturally to me. Listening with intent and sharing with honesty are what help me guide others on how to narrate their story better.
