- Led the development of an innovative car insurance pilot brand for RAC called Range Insurance. Built and achieved underwriting in a record 3.5 months. - Developed a framework on how to build a new digital only insurance product for RAC- Overcame challenges of building a new company in a highly competitive market via outside of the box marketing, smart budgeting decisions, a small team wearing many hats and good old hustle.- Liaised with and worked closely with SMEs in insurance in order to complete all the requirements to launch a highly regulated product. This included the following teams, legal, risk & compliance, product, marketing and claims.- Ran as a small team to manage all aspects of the product - branding, web development, product management, marketing, stakeholder & executive management, customer support and customer research.- Used a wide range of tools such as Jira, Hotjar, Google Analytics, Wordpress, Unbounce, LeadPages, Facebook ads, Google AdWords, Mailchimp, Typeform and ClickUp.- Led weekly stakeholder updates which included preparing for and presenting on roadmap, updates, progress wins and losses to the BetterLabs CEO, Entrepreneur in residence and wider team.- Also tested various other business concepts which included extensive customer research, face to face customer interviews, surveys, focus groups, marketing and building prototypes. The most promising is a Membership platform called Connected Women to connect women over 50 in order to alleviate loneliness and build friendships. The group grew to 300 members in a week and I am proud to hear that it is achieving product market fit and the team are kicking goals.BetterLabs is a 23 million dollar investment fund and venture studio for one of WA’s oldest and most well known company, RAC. As Innovation Product Manager my role was responsible for ideating, creating and scaling new products to help expand the parent company’s offerings. I led a team of two and managed contractors.

Worked alongside the two incubation Product Owners in developing new products and marketing them.Brought my entrepreneurial and product development experience in exploring new industries including sports games, blockchain gaming, lottery gaming and casual mobile games. Co founded an ecommerce company built to sell a unique men's accessory product called a Valet Tray. We re-invogorated a classic men's accessory from the past with a modern twist towards helping men organise and not forget their 3 most important accessories; wallet, keys and phone.We unsuccessfully ran a kickstarter campaign but learned a lot from it, whilst still fulfilling the orders from the campaign and more. We built a very strong brand and personality around the product, which resulted in a successful video campaign which went viral and garnered 250,000+ views.We also successfully got the product listed on premium publications such as GQ, Man of Many, The Urban List, The Weekend Edition, Business News and more. I have stepped away to pursue my current role, but the company lives strongly on.

- founded a drop shipping business that hit $30,000 revenue in the first year targeting US only- built a strong brand with my product being one of the top multivitamins for men on amazon- hired a team of 3 to automate the operations- sponsored an athlete to promote the product on the ground Founded Gaea Nutrition, a superfoods e-commerce company that specialised in selling superfood multivitamins. Used Amazon as the store front and distributor to successfully run the business in the USA while living in Australia. Reverse engineered Amazon to figure out what products would do well and implemented search engine optimisation for amazon’s sales search engine and listing optimisation to successfully position on page one. Built a team to automate the business and still have a strong customer experience focus which included customer interviews and phone calls, hand written thank you letters and discount post cards. This and the strong product resulted in very positive customer reviews. Built to be one of the top multivitamin brands on amazon. Built an e-commerce store and expanded the brand into gyms, with brand ambassadors and event sponsorship. Moved on post growth to pursue other e-commerce roles.

Helped the leading coworking space and entrepreneurial space in Perth in a sales role. My role was focussed at bringing in new members and then later on organising for events to be booked at both Spacecubed's Riff and Flux spaces.Worked part-time as I was also running several startups at the same time. Have also been a long time member of Spacecubed so I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to help and work at Spacecubed.

Volunteer community host at Spacecubed - the entrepreneurial hub in the Perth CBD. I was responsible for manning the front desk once a week to greet and welcome visitors and members and help members with any workspace issues. I also used the workspace so this position has been a great opportunity to network and meet new people.

Spent 6 months cataloging in detail the steps I took to build and launch a successful ecommerce business using Amazon to launch and build brand awareness then expanding. Also built an extensive accompanying worksheet to help people work through the same process process seamlessly. Self published using Amazon, with highly positive feedback from real customers. Used the pen name John B McKinnon to expand reach and garner trust. I was still running my supplement business at the time so couldn't devote a lot of time to promoting the book but was nevertheless happy with the traction it achieved fairly organically.

Food For Function was a blog project I was engaged in to help break common food misconceptions and myths. Food can and should be used to improve health and wellness. This blog was run as a research tool to see if there was a market to develop pre-prepared and packed meals catered to the fitness sector. There was none at the time for Perth but the cost and regulation ended up being too much for me to take on solo.After completing a research paper on fast food around high schools for a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning, I was appalled at the number of misconceptions surrounding food. Combined with a rising obesity epidemic facing most of the developed world, the time is ripe to promote the functional benefits of food to improve health and wellness.
