As an entrepreneur and engineer, Ranjit brings over 25 years of experience in the ICT sector and currently is a partner and a senior consultant for Skandiakonsult Sverige BV. Starting out as a systems analyst in 1988, within a period of 2 years, he was appointed by IBM, as the resident representative for the northern emirates in UAE for their process control systems. He has worked with some of the leading names in the industry and has vast experience, in telecommunication deployment projects, from rolling out VSAT terminals to setting up the first MVNO in the gulf region. As such, he is a seasoned executive with in-depth understanding of emerging technologies and their commercial applications. Having conducted business in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East he has immense experience and knowledge in international business practices. He has held technical leadership roles in the telecommunication sector and has been an adviser to regulators in the South Asian region. He has managed operation at the level of chief executive in organisations that have had over 50 employees, and is a highly analytical decision-maker with extensive experience in start-ups, Mobile Virtual Network Operators, Data Centres and re-engineering projects. He comes with a proven history of increasing productivity, efficiency and turning around difficult situations. He is also an avid astronomer, and was mentored by Sir Arthur C Clarke who guided him to present a thesis on Time Dilation. He just recently was offered Fellowship status to the Institute of Physics for his ‘an outstanding contribution to the profession’. Ranjit holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautics, a Master’s in Advanced System Management and is a Fellow of The Royal Astronomical Society and is a Member of The Institute of Physics
