Read on to see how I became an administrator and developer in the Salesforce and Marketing Cloud platforms after getting an MBA and starting a company in Japan.Some years ago, after earning an MBA, I started my own company, Hart Book, dedicated to facilitating international communications. I have been doing a variety of freelance work ever since.Along the way, in order to create web-sites and tools for learning, etc., I developed an interest, and then a love of programming. I made our site interactive with Java and MySQL, informed clients and interested parties of our business activities via HTML and CSS, and recently began the process of going mobile with iOS and Swift.Then, I found an opportunity to use my development skills in California, so I took a position with a clothing company, in the IT Dept. Since Sep. 2017, I have been working with the Salesforce platform. So far, I have earned six certificates: Salesforce Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I, Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, and Marketing Cloud Developer.During this time, I have managed most of the Salesforce Sales and Service Cloud administrative needs of a company with over 300 users, built SF apps for onboarding and prospects, and handled Flows, Apex, and Visualforce pages with agile development. For much of this time as well, I have handled my present employer’s Marketing Cloud IT needs; I have implemented and managed email and SMS, built custom preference centers, and created numerous automations and journeys for various campaigns.To supplement my income, I am looking for some part-time work, or even full-time if the position is right.
