I have learnt the fundamentals of C#, Dart/Flutter, Python, and Angular, as well as different algorithms and data structures, cloud computing, and new APIs.Moreover, my eagerness to delve into data structures, new technologies, and innovative design patterns is fuelled by the potential applications within the industry. Additionally, I am developing a new project that serves as a library system and integrating a separate program that will cross-check books read in an Elder Scrolls game and update their database records. These personal projects not only apply the skills and knowledge I've gained from my Computer Science degree but also expand my technical skills and impart valuable lessons in project management and problem-solving.In my final year project, I aimed to create a cognitive training application to be deployed to both Android and Flutter using a single code source with Firebase hosting my database. After reading numerous research papers studying the brain and how cognitive deterioration affects the mind. I had decided to deploy to both Android and iPhone as this would increase my user base. My target audience was the older generation, and I needed to reduce the barriers to entry, so it had to be an app on their phone. As a result, I had to learn a new tech stack, Flutter, and use Dart with Firebase as my cloud solution. Unfortunately, the work I produced was not to my original specification, which taught me a valuable lesson about requirement planning, managing expectations, and researching APIs.Complementing my academic achievements, I have honed my adaptability and teamwork skills through valuable retail experience. At Smyths, I often found myself in diverse roles and responsibilities with minimal training. This was particularly challenging during busy days, which were frequent for a new store. However, I could adapt swiftly and execute my tasks effectively, demonstrating my ability to work under pressure and in a dynamic environment.I constantly challenge myself to ensure I understand a topic and push on until I do.
