Ran Yi is a MEng student in Systems Engineering at Cornell University. Her research focuses on automating emissions data into detailed reports for policymakers by leveraging natural language generation models and AI tools. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics and Information Technology with a minor in Digital Communication, Information, and Media from Rutgers University, graduating summa cum laude. Summer 2023, she participated in a collaborative research study with Rutgers University and Ritsumeikan University, focusing on the social, cultural, and political dynamics of the Asia-Pacific region, offering insights from Japanese academic resources. Through her academic and research experiences, Ran has developed expertise in data analysis, digital communication, and operations research. She has a deep interest in operations optimization, particularly in applying it to solve complex decision-making challenges in operations management under uncertainty.
