Designed & implemented Fraud Detection Systems for the Vail Telephony Platform. Core technologies used include Digital Signal Processing, Voice Signatures & Speaker Recognition, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Fuzzy Logic, and large scale simulations. (Linux, C++). Multiple patents awarded.Developed a novel approach (patent awarded) for organizing very large data sets outside of traditional & NoSQL databases that allows extremely fast access to the data using a proprietary query language and a highly concurrent query engine. Used this approach in the implementation of a Data & Analytics server with a HTTP API that is now in active production use. (Linux, C++).

Led the effort for implementing Vail Cloud Services -- a cloud computing platform (PaaS) aimed at providing access to the Vail VOIP platform via RESTful web services. Directly responsible for designing the external and internal APIs, the overall system architecture including detailed design specifications, and implementation of core components of the platform. Also responsible for coordinating the efforts of the software developers involved in the project.(Linux, C++, HTTP/REST, JSON/Schema, Redis, MongoDB, SQL Server).

Developed the software vision and business proposition for Vail Cloud Services – a set of APIs aimed at providing access to the Vail VOIP platform via RESTful web services.Was the lead architect for the Vail SMS Services project. Was directly responsible for the functional requirements, design specification, system architecture and implementation of a messaging platform supporting the entire SMPP protocol specification (C++, CentOS, pthreads, sockets, MySQL).Designed & implemented a Unified Billing System for real-time billing and invoicing of customer accounts. The architecture of the system allowed a clear separation of the billing logic for each platform customer from the unified billing framework by representing customer service contracts as external LUA scripts that are executed for every transaction by a highly parallel C++ billing framework (Linux, Lua, C++).Was responsible for validation of the telephony platform build-out for Census 2010 (US Gov). My tasks included capacity evaluation, architecture assessment, test plans, and the final evaluation report.Was the lead architect for the Vail CDR System. The CDR system records the progress & detailed history of millions of calls handled by Vail VOIP platform every day and forms the basis for customer billing. Was directly responsible for the design specification, system architecture, and implementation. System is network-centric, distributed, redundant, continuously available, and deeply multi-threaded with an extensible architecture via plugins as well as a data subscriptions subsystem for real time custom data feeds to external analytics end points. (C++, Solaris, SQL Server, MySQL, SQLite, FreeTDS, Erlang).

Requirement analysis, design specification, and implementation of a complete subsystem for Digital Map Display targeted at in-vehicle navigation systems, with identical C-based API for Win32, AIX & Solaris (running Xlib), VxWorks (running metaWINDOW), OS-9000 (running MAUI) and AutoPC (running WinCE) platforms. Two patents awarded.Designed and implemented SAND, a testbed HMI application that integrates the functionality of seven navigation software products (NavTools) and is used across the company for validation of core software products, QA purposes, and as foundation for custom research prototypes (Win32, Visual C++, MFC).Implemented Digital Map Display components as Enterprise Java Beans for deployment as web services (Java, J2EE, JNI, C++, Weblogic).Developed Text Management subsystem for DMF Compiler. The compiler is implemented on AIX and consists of many C++ processes that are glued together by shell scripts. It is the production vehicle used by Navteq to deliver its database to customers for use in in-vehicle navigation systems (AIX, C++).Developed an automated system for generating VB.NET interfaces to SNAP C++ library using doxygen, Microsoft XSLT processor, and SWIG. This system facilitated script-based QA of the SNAP library from VB.NET clients.Worked as part of a team (Bison) responsible for moving the mainframe based mapping data & operational framework to an Oracle based client-server system. This is a large scale project spanning hundreds of packages and thousands of classes. Contributed to the POI subsystem, AET, and was responsible for refactoring Polygon Edit & Feature Name Edit modules (Java, Oracle).

Ported a large CAD application for traffic simulation running on Intergraph workstations from Fortran77 to C. This software is used by the Texas Department of Transportation for designing traffic intersections (C, Unix, Microstation).

Implemented an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for creating Artificial Intelligence applications. The IDE provided an environment for representing & organizing knowledge in distinct rule sets, a compiler for compiling the rule bases into p-code, a rule base linker for packaging solutions, multiple inference engines, and a debugger for interactive visualization of the inference paths. (C, lex, yacc, Xlib, Motif, Aegis/Unix, DOS).
