New England Bancorp was the holding company for Bank of Cape Cod, a commercial bank which opened in 2006. The bank was acquired by Rockland Trust in 2016. Assets, prior to its acquisition by were north of 250 million dollars and the bank continued to enjoy a very low risk profile with an expanding growth in net income.On March 17th, 2016 a definitive agreement was announced where Independent Bank Corp (Rockland Trust) would acquire New England Bank Corp (The Bank of Cape Cod) in a tax free exchange of stock on a 1 for 4 basis. The merger was approved by regulators and closed on 10 November 2016. Based on the listed price of Independent's stock on the closing date, the transaction resulted in a 50% return on the investment of our original shareholders . That return is now equal to a 62% return and double the book value at the time the agreement was signed.

Founded Software 2000 in 1980 to develop back office applications for the IBM mid-range line of computers. It grew rapidly into a global organization in the mid 80s and became a dominant feature of a number of industries in the 90s, including especially the gaming industry.Our initial products were General Ledger (the largest user was Shell Oil) and Human Resources (the largest user was the Royal Mail in the UK). All of our back office products were focused on medium and large enterprises across all industries.The company changed its name to Infinium Software in the late 90s to avoid confusion over the year 2000 software controversy. It went public in 1995 on NASDAQ and was sold in 2002.
