About Raphael Alvarez
As a film and TV director, I have over 17 years of experience in creating award-winning documentaries, TV shows, and films that showcase diverse and compelling stories. I have directed “Dzi Croquettes”, the most awarded documentary in Brazil's history, as well as several non-scripted TV shows for Ingrid Guimaraes, a renowned Brazilian actress and comedian. I have also made my directing and editing debut at Amazon Prime Studio with “Written in the Stars”, and sold the film “BR Trans”, which explores the lives and struggles of transgender people in Brazil.In addition to directing, I also work as a freelance video editor, and producer. I used my skills in video editing, production management, and broadcasting to various clients and projects. I have a strong background in drama and theatre arts, having graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1995. I am also the CEO and creative director of TRIA Productions, a company I founded in 2007, that specializes in creating and producing high-quality audiovisual content. I currently live between Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Fort Lauderdale, USA, where I collaborate with local and international talent and partners.
