My name is Raphael Baker, and I'm currently in the third year of my degree in Advanced Mathematical Sciences at the University of Adelaide. I chose to study Mathematics because of its real-world application in a variety of fields. I wish to use my skills in Programming, Problem Solving and Data Analytics to foster growth in my community, in whatever form that takes. I am an experienced Mathematics Tutor, cultivating important working relationships with an aim to bring the best out of my students. This has taught me that you never truly understand a topic until you can relate it to others in non-technical terms. Part-time work in the sectors of hospitality, housekeeping and as a kitchen hand have helped me uphold the rigorous standards required to meet deadlines in high-pressure workplaces.I find that I work best in team environments, fostered by my work as a voluntary social media manager and committee member for the Stirling Cricket Club, where I also play. Working alongside leaders of the club, I have gained invaluable insight into the importance of hearing multiple perspectives on certain issues. Finally, as a cricketer and (Australian Rules) football player, being a part of teams which bond together through shared experiences under a unified goal has made me a more passionate and community focused individual.
