-> My name is Raphael Barros and I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from CEFET/RJ - Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca and during my undergraduate course I was selected to took part in an exchange program at Hochschule München (Munich University of Applied Sciences) in Munich, Germany. -> Currently, I am working as an Engineering Analyst at SolarGrid, which is an EPC solar company with solar power plants in all over Brazil. At SolarGrid I give support to the O&M team through the elaboration and analysis of PVSyst simulations, give assistance to the Environmental team with the development of shading-loss analysis through PVSyst, Google Earth and AutoCAD and give support to the Commercial team elaborating technical proposal for the new clients, including PVSyst simulation, technical specification and pricing for rooftop and ground mounted solar power plants. Also, I am the responsible for the energy efficiency studies with new PV modules and inverters using PVSyst and collaborate with the layout elaboration of the solar power plants using AutoCAD. -> During my career I have had the opportunity to work as a Load Forecast Intern at the National Electric System Operator, where I could collaborate to develop electrical studies for short, medium and long range, working with data from the load curve and power factor from the electric energy distributors. Also, I was the responsible for the daily demand curve and daily temperatures correction to use as an input to ANNSTLF (a neural-network-basedelectric load forecasting system). Another internship working experience was as a Smart Cities Project Intern at Engie Brazil, where I could collaborate to develop and update the project’s schedule estimating the field technicians activities duration. Also, I was responsible for writing the daily project reports and for the purchase requisition for new equipment and services to the project, working together with the Supply Chain team. I could also assist on the financial analysis and on the project’s technical drawing analysis.
