Designer, researcher.Raphaël Coutin is a designer & researcher based in Eindhoven. Graduated from Master Social Design at Design Academy Eindhoven, he works as an independent design studio.Fascinated by abandoned buildings and observing the life cycle of building material he sees a design intervention as the new way forward. It is a reassembling of elements present, a readdressing of previous design solutions and a repurposing. Raphael approaches the chaos with a sense of wonder and subdues the alienated elements by imposing a new system. His curriculum brought him from sculpture and model making to social design. The experience accumulated in a variety of fields - studies and work experience - made him understand the whole process of creation and gave a very diverse range of tools. Raphael can express his thoughts and ideas through hand drawings, computer illustration, small animation, 3d modeling, realistic computer renders, scale model and design practical solution for an easier production.
