Com mais de 19 anos de experiência em agricultura e sustentabilidade, sou Gerente de Projetos de Sustentabilidade na Cargill, uma empresa global que atua em diversos segmentos do agronegócio. Minha missão é contribuir para a transformação do setor agrícola, promovendo e implementando soluções inovadoras em sustentabilidade para produtores rurais e clientes. Tenho Ph.D. em Ciências Agrárias pela Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, e uma paixão pela aplicação da tecnologia e da ciência para solucionar os desafios da agricultura do futuro.Na Cargill, lidero uma iniciativa disruptiva que visa restaurar 100.000 hectares de áreas alteradas no Brasil até 2027. Coordeno um grupo diversificado de 11 organizações externas que foi responsável pelo desenho das metodologias, processos e metas do programa de restauração. Junto a um time interno de cinco pesoas, faço a gestão dos projetos de restauração, incluindo todas as atividades envolvidas na restauração, desde o engajamento de produtores rurais até o monitoramento e reporte de indicadores. Utilizo minhas habilidades em planejamento estratégico, inovação e agricultura de precisão para garantir a eficiência, a qualidade e o impacto dos projetos. Antes disso, fui Supervisor de Sustentabilidade para os Negócios de Cacau e Chocolate da Cargill no Brasil, onde liderei uma equipe de 8 pessoas e projetamos e iniciamos a implementação do Promise Verified Certification Program, uma solução inovadora em certificação de produtos de cacau.

Sustainabilty ManagerCargill Aug 2018 - May 2021São Paulo, BrasilAs the Country Sustainability Lead for the Cocoa and Chocolate Business in Brasil, we have lead a team of 8 people and designed and started implementation of the Promise Verified Certification Program, an innovative solution in certification that was developed to deliver on our customer’s needs on Cocoa Products certification, such as the Nestlé Cocoa Plan and the Mars Cocoa for Generations strategy. We were also responsible for planning and implementing the strategy for Cargill Cocoa Sustainability in Brazil. My responsibilities included but were not limited to: design, plan, and implement sustainability projects aiming to improve farmers’ livelihoods, productivity, and ultimately income. The scope of these projects were related to the support for farmers to comply with the Brazilian Forest Code, research and improvement of agricultural practices, women empowerment, coop professionalization, farm management, among other objectives. We have also supported the development of the Cargill’s Communication and Marketing Strategy for cocoa sustainability. Additionally, we have also conducted other certification programs such as UTZ and Rainforest to verify and certify farms, coops, and the chain of custody for the supply of sustainable cocoa beans. -
