R&D Project Manager
I was responsible for the planning and organisation of R&D projects in the field of immunology. The aim was to development innovative Immunoassays. The work included upstream and downstream developement of recombinant proteins in bacterial and mammalian cells, bioconjugation of allergens and antibodies, validation of allergens by SDS-PAGE, Immuno-Blot and ELISA.
Scientific Assistant | Phd Student
During my PhD project I was interested in finding new starting points for the design of antibiotics. 3 proteins served as targets: FabF, an enzyme of the fatty acid synthesis cycle of bacteria and two carbapenemases (GES-5 and KPC-2).I used virtual screening and fragment screening methods. In order to identify hit compounds I developed a binding assay using Bio-Layer-Interferometry and was able to prove the concept of an innovativ enzymatic assay. Hit compounds were co-crystallized in order to determine the binding mode.On the KPC-2 project we performed an optimization approach using computational methods followed by synthesis of our cooperation partner.
