I am an Electronics Engineer with nearly 5 years of experience in power electronics and embedded electronics as a doctoral researcher at EPFL in an R&D setting with international colleagues. I have a strong interest in power conversion systems, energy storage systems and electrification solutions. Title: Ultra-high voltage, low power and energy recovering electronics for dielectric elastomer actuatorsPh.D. thesis in the Integrated Actuators Laboratory (LAI) and Center for Artificial Muscles (CAM) of EPFL under the supervision of Prof. Yves Perriard and Dr. Alexis Boegli. The goal of this project was to investigate and design a power electronics system capable of supplying ultra-high voltages (>8000V) from a low voltage (12V) power supply to dielectric elastomer actuators (a.k.a artificial muscles) and of subsequently recovering the energy stored in them. The whole system was destined to power a new kind of heart assist device.A functional prototype was ultimately successfuly designed, manufactured, assembled and tested by myself.
