Raphael John Ogbe obtained his first degree i.e. B.Sc. Biochemistry from A.B.U. Zaria, then an M.Sc. and PhD Biochemistry from University of Jos, Jos, Nigeria. He has conducted several researches including Antianaemic potentials of some plant extracts against phenylhydrazine-induced anaemia in rabbits and Protective effects of some plant extracts against diclofenac-induced oxidative stress and hepatorenal injuries in rats. Currently, my research focus is the investigation of the therapeutic potential of biologically active compounds in medicinal plant extracts for the management of oxidative stress and hepatorenal damage in animals. I'm also interested in the bioassay-guided isolation, purification, identification and characterization of bioactive compounds in plant extracts.I have worked as a Biology/Chemistry Teacher (1998-2005) at the Trinity Secondary School Kano, Nigeria-Turkish International College Abuja, and other institutions of learning in Nigeria. Then, started my career as a Lecturer & Researcher at Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Nigeria, in 2005, where i teach Vet. Medicine students various topics in biochemistry, coordinate students' laboratory practicals, supervise student projects, and conduct research into the medicinal potentials of bioactive compounds in plant extracts for the management of oxidative stress, liver and kidney disorders in animals.
