I work collaboratively with staff and Give Us Wings’ (GUW) constituencies to:1. Help staff facilitate group discussions with CBOs/self-help groups that promote a collaborative approach to problem solving and idea generation.2. Meet and consult regularly with members of the CBOs with which GUW work in order to maintain and strengthen GUW’s grassroots model of development.3. Work with local staff to monitor, manage and assess projects and programs as they are implemented and ensure that they are in compliance with the stated goals of the project or program plan. 4. Oversee current projects and programs, including but not limited to, health programs, adult education programs, sponsorship program, community development, and a clean water program (reservoir /water user’s association).5. Network and form partnerships in Kenya with like-minded organizations and government offices that share our vision for development work. 6. Lead trainings for the local CBOs in basic administration and development skills.

My key responsibilities were:1. Supervision of Mobile HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing events within Diocesan region of Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay, Southern Nyanza Region.2. Leading the project team and volunteers in carrying out community outreach events aimed at sensitizing the youths and MARPs (aged 15 – 35yrs) on HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing for prevention.3. Management of agreed HIV/AIDS interventions, in line with relevant Diocesan policies and approved program documents and budget.

Reinforcing of the work of Field Officer in ensuring that CBOs in Homa Bay, Rachuonyo and Ndhiwa Districts provided appropriate Nutrition and Health Support to OVCs. I also backed-up the phase-out strategy by increasing the engagement of community structures in developing their own exit plans while linking them and sourcing for relevant networking agencies/ GoK for continuity.
